Description
unabashedly California Syrah
A cork 20+ years old is entering a phase of softening and possibly even bonding to the glass thereby making extraction a tricky endeavor
and it has a great mid-palate as well as one heck of a great finish
This is my favorite wine
when Louis Trapet decided to buy a good chunk of grapevines and founded the Domaine Trapet
Domaine Santa Duc, Gigondas 2003 Barolo unabashedly California Syrah1. 5cm 90 points Robert Parker A blend of 75% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre, and the rest Cinsault, the 2003 Gigondas possesses considerable austere tannin, but also loads of muscle, power, and deep, earthy, black cherry and berry fruit. While slightly tough textured, it will age well. This is a vin de garde style that requires 4 5 years of cellaring, and should last 12 14 years. (12 04)
