Aoki Shuzo Yuki Otoko Honjozo Glen Scotia Victoriana and cinnamonThe yeti on the label comes from a real book: the Hokuetsu Seppu, an 1837 chronicle of life in Japan's snow country written by Suzuki Bokushi an actual ancestor of the Aoki family, who have run Aoki Shuzo in Niigata's Uonuma region since 1717. The Yuki Otoko, or Snow Yeti, is said to haunt the local mountains and guide lost travelers home, and the brewery honors the legend literally: a portion of proceeds funds local mountain search and rescue.
