P1856 BRITISH MK.1 DRUMMER’S / MUSICIAN'S SWORD - CIVIL WAR ERA Cold War and internal springAmerican Civil War period short sword carried by regimental drummers and bandsmen. The double edged etched blade measures 19 inches in length with an overall length of 24 4 8 inches and a width of 1 3 8 inches. Made by Robert Mole & Sons Birmingham, England and so marked. There are traces of gold and white paint throughout the patina, which may indicate having been previously displayed in a G. A. R hall.
