First issued in 1961 this was the official Military Machete or fighting knife used by the FRENCH in the Vietnam War

The serial number is still partly present on the barrel

Very few RAAF pilots were awarded a DFC and even fewer have named tunics and documentation come to market and available for a collection

which added some nice striations to the blade
