Hymenocallis pygmaea South of the Border Orixa This uniquely-colored Doyle Smittle hybridHymenocallis pygmaea 'South of the Border' is a 2026 Plant Delights JLBG introduction of the rare "Carolinas" native spider lily. Pygmy spider lily was first published in 1962 by the late Hamilton Traub, from a specimen discovered by pre eminent Southeast US botanist, Mary Henry. Pygmy spider lily only occurs in a few populations along the North Carolina South Carolina coastal border. Our offering was propagated from a Gerald Smith collection from the
