Leaves emerge purple, then fade to the blushed, variegated foliage in white, green and hot pink! for which this varietal is prized. Flowers turn to pea like seed pods in the fall. This is a rounded understory tree that is often multi stemmed. Appreciates some summer water and afternoon shade in hot climates. Needs a winter chill to set flowers. It was
