Gloriosa simplex Nerium except they are more flattened(aka: Gloriosa plantii, Gloriosa superba 'Plantii') Gloriosa simplex is an amazingly showy species of the African native gloriosa lily. The 8' tall, twining deciduous vine is covered from June through summer (NC) with clusters of 3" flowers, each consisting of six red ruffled petals, highlighted by a dramatic yellow border that ages to cream. There are few plants better to beautify an ugly fence than gloriosa lilies. Like their cousins, colchicums
