This is a very nice example of a WWI Era M 1911 Campaign Hat utilized by an officer in the Marine Corps. When World War I broke out, and the Marine Corps grew exponentially in size, there were not nearly enough P1912 Campaign hats for every man in the Corps, leading to many being issued with Army M1911 campaign hats. Included is an early USMC Eagle, Globe, Anchor (EGA) Device which is period, and correct, for the age
