Originating from India and from the 40s 50s, they wouldve been used for table settings to hold menu cards. Each has an upside down heart shape on the back of their feather fan and a menu, photograph or postcard can be displayed by slipping the card between the heart and the fan. One of the peacocks may have had some damage in the past, as it stands a little off centre and his feather fan plate can be moved about
