He eventually built a factory on South 15th Street in Clarinda and the name was changed to the Dunn Manufacturing Co

Authorized in June of 1877 the regulation Foreign Service Helmet, was made of cork and covered in white cloth with a standard six seams. The style was worn throughout the empire, and this pattern remained in use until replaced by the Wolseley pattern helmet. This is a very nice Canadian issue example of the standard white "six seam" version, maker marked on the inside by two firms Montral, part of the Quebec province
