Bavaria, Kingdom. A Merit Cross Of 1870/71 Miniature, C.1872 Newly Listed on grey wool base tunic(Verdienstkreuz fr 1870 71 Miniatur). Instituted 12 May 1871 by King Ludwig II. (1871 1872). Constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a red Geneva Cross, the revere bearing a central gilt monogram of King Ludwig II, within a ring of blue enamels bearing gilt dates 1870 1871,
