The color is a redish brown, often with dark stripes. It is moderately hard and heavy with a medium texture and large pores and a very smooth surface. An elegant and unique wood, it's redish brown color will deepen as the wood ages, taking on an antique look. If exposed to prolonged periods of direct sunlight it will turn a beautiful golden brown.
